C230 battery/alternator light

Hello guys i have 2004 C230 with a brand new battery that once a day "just once a day" it turns battery/alternator light, when i check to see if alternator is charging it reads around 14v but if i turn the car off the light will go off until the next day or so , any ideas about this before i replace alternator ????? thanks george

i had a similar proble 2 times the firsta time my voltage regulator was damage the second time a cable from the alternator was going to ground doe to a bad cable

is the voltage regulator inside the alternator or is it outise like the old fords ?

in my 02 c230 is located inside the alternator
