Recently -when I remove my smart key from the ignition,the cardoesnt seem to recognize that key has been taken out!!

Meaning wheni open the door it beeps with the "remove key" warning signal on the dash computer and i obviouslycant lock it.

It takes the carabout 30 seconds to a minute, to realise the key has been taken out, so I have to sit there and wait for the ignition to lock before getting out the car!Which is becoming extremely annoying.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with theirC230K?

I realy wish MB would've done something different with the ignition system. I can see how it can be very fragile, that's why I am sooo carefull when I remove the key. I do it in three steps, turn, turn again, then remove. Try cleaning the ports on both the key and the ignition. If you have to replace the unit it's going to be expensive. I realy hate that design.
