Default C230 (03) Brake Pad Warning

Good day everyone. I just changed my oil and filter etc and in returning from test drive, Brake Pad warning appeared in message centre. Only came on once and not again. No indication if front or rear, that would have been helpful, however, in your experience since I have not touched disc pads yet I would be leaning towards front pads rather than rear.

In my other vehicles the front padsalways wear out first. Does this situation match your experience.

Any comments would be helpful.

Cheers,

Tryg

That's correct. Front brake pads wears faster than the rear.

Thanks K1 for the confirmation. Will replace front pads and sensor tomorrow. I am reviewing the HID kit so will let you know.

Cheers,

That is correct, the front brakes do wear quicker then the back. The front brakes perform 60-70 percent of the braking force, due to the shift in weight when braking. That is why the front rotors are usually bigger then the rears.

Your front Mercedes Benz brake pad may be thinned and your sensor noticed it.The front brakes perform 60-70 percent of the braking force, because of the shift in weight when braking that is why it wears first.
