C220 D fuel leak from pump
 

Hi all,ive got a problem on my dads merc,he noticed a fuel leak yesterday,i couldnt see where it was coming from so today i put it on the lift at work and looked from underneath,it seems to be coming from the side of the inj pump,i removed the inlet manifold to have a better look but now i cant run it to see,before i removed it i ran it and had a look and i could see it running down the side of the pump,its almost like its leaking from where the two halves of the pump housing are bolted together!Does this make sense or has anyone heard of a similar problem? And how can it be fixed as its leaking quite a lot! Thanks.

Right,ive put the car back together,and removed the undertray from the G/box so i can see if i can see the leak any better.Its definately leakinf from where i said,where the 2x halved of the inj pump meet,it just seems to be oozing straight out the side!Its coming out at a fair rate of knots too! Anybody got any ideas? Has this ever happened before to anyone? Im guessing its going to be a case of removing the pump to have it sorted,but whats the best option? Cheers
