C220 Cdi 2001 coupe - Steering wheel controls not working :-(
 

Hi.. Just bought myself a C220 coupe over the weekend.. very nice car ! Just working myself through the jobs to do list and one of them is the +/- controls on the right hand side of the steering wheel which are not working. When i switch the ignition on a warning come up saying "hands free not available" with the phone controls being on the same side/unit would this be related ? Thanks

probablythe switch needs to be replaced. they go bad. must remove airbag to replace them. i think you have to buy them in pairs, cant just get one side of switches.

Thanks for the reply.. i had the switch off today to see if there was anything obvious but i couldnt see anything. Just abit afraid of paying alot of money out for a new switch and its not the problem :confused:

Going to visit a independent tomorrow and see if i can get some free advise lol
