Unhappy C200 w202

Hi Im having problems with a fast idle speed, e.g between 2000 and 7000 revs but no power. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this as i am stumped. It does not seem to be clogged injectors. I would appreciate any insight into this problem. Thanks.

I had to replace all of the cables in the engine compartment on a 1995 C220 as the insulation had failed. Even when new I seemed to have occasional issues with the engine speeding up without accelerator pressed ands then at 3 years old the dealer was constantly resetting the computer program. The dealer never did find the problem until many years later when a mechanic who was stumped with inability to run past 50 mph cut the outer cover on harnesss. May be your problem.

Default C250 accerating without pedal being pressed

Hi,

I've got the same problem as Michael, occassionally 1995 C250 accerating without pedal being pressed. The acceleration is also accompanied by higher revs and a rattling sound which I can't locate although possibly the exhaust.

Can anyone, even Michael, elaborate what he did to solve the problem? i.e " cut the outer cover on harness", if indeed it does the problem.

thanks

Actually I read this all wrong, " replace all of the cables in the engine compartment" seems to be the answer, is that expensive?
