Brought a '07 C Class - Should I buy a extended warranty?
The real answer to this one is......"are you feelin' lucky???" I can tell you that mine paid for itself the first time I had to use it on something major, but.....you may not ever have a thing go wrong with your car, so it's just one of those things. You have to be VERY careful though if you decide to comparison shop for one of these things. There are exclusions for this and that and deductibles and limits and stipulations on where you have to go to have it fixed, etc etc. It's like a long laundry list of things that don't apply to the warranty. So, you must be sure you are comparing apples to apples. A lot of people will say these are a waste of money, and that the odds are with you that something major won't go south. Here's my advice: Constantly praise you car. Wash it a lot and after you polish it, tell it how nice it looks. Cars can hear humans, you know. Then burn some incense around it once a month or so, especially if the mileage goes over 50K. Hire some monks to come and bless it. Do what you can and good luck.
i bought my c280 2007 from a dealer and paid 1K for the extended warranty - if you are buying from a private 3rd party insurer I would read the fine print carefully - better to start a repair savings account than buy from a 3rd party
