Please help. My low fuel light begins to blink when the gas tank is 3/4 full. Check engine light is on code is P4055. I changed gas cap with Mercedes cap, yet still same problem. The light comes on after driving approx. 50Km (30 miles). Any ideas? Disco lights in my dash drive me crazy!!!

 

i have the EXACT same problem. I have also replaced the cap.....

 

I asked a mechanic about this he told me it is probably a smal leak in the evap. system. He told me to find a shop that has a smoke box. They hook it up to your evap. system and look for any smoke coming out of any lines, hoses or connections to find the air leak. I have found a local guy to do it but haven't had a chance to take it there yet because I can't leave the car for a day yet. He thinks it may be in the charcoal cannister, apparantly a common area for evap. leaks.
