Another ESP malfunction question
 

Hi,

This is my first day as member and first post. My parents recently gave me a 2002 C320 with 35,000 miles. Before they shipped it to me from CA to MN, they did a full service, changed brake pads and had it aligned. Two days after I got it, the rear right tire spun on a patch of ice as I pulled out of my parking spot. (The temp is in the single digits here.) A bit later the ESP malfunction light appeared in the instrument panel. Another thing related or not, the steering wheel points to about 10 o'clock, even though the car is perfectly aligned, e.g., it does not pull right nor left when you are not holding the steering wheel.

I've done the lock-to-lock steering wheel maneuver without luck, but I'm going to try it again tomorrow but with more turns and more vigor.

So there you have it. I would appreciate any help. I'd hate to take it in to the dealer, esp. when everything was just recently checked out.
