'99 C280 Wheel Upgrade???

Hey all, I'm 19 and just bought my first Benz. I love it, low miles, black, tan leather. I really got a steal. The stock wheels just don't do it for me though, I wanna get some new ones. My bigmouth brother asked a salesman at the dealership ask about low profile tires for the car, and the salesman responded it wouldn't be recommended. Anyone know why, and what this would affect, and how it would drive in the snow. Also, any recommendations for wheels?

Lemme know.

Thanks

rims baby rims!

I have twenties on a '02 clk 430 with tire so low it looks like I am riding on the chrome man. You can look at my pictures. Not only can you put low profiles but you can get at least 20 inch rims on the car. Low profile tires just take away from that smooth old luxury ride. With low pro's you feel the road a lot more. Like pot holes and stuff like that. I would say if you drive on good streets and freeways your good. If the roads are all torn up where you live like really torn up, stay with a bigger tire and smaller rim. You have to give up the ride for the look dog. Its not going to screw your car up though dog.lol. Just drive slower on the streets so you dont bend any rims. As far as the snow....it doesnt matter if its low profile or a huge tire. If theres ice your going to slide. plane and simple. I have low pro's on my acura too and just went to the mountains and drove in the snow. I slid once because of ice. at that point it didnt matter tire size its ice dog! chains would have helped I am sure.

Shocks

If you get low profile tires the ride dosent have to be bumpy because you may raise the shocks a little or have those chicano hydrolics to raise the car just a little for that bumpy ride and readjust when you have passed it.
