99 C280 mass air flow concern update - procedures, tips/best source 4 part?
 

Could anyone please give me an update on any recent new info on our notorious MAF problems?

My car is a USA specification C280 with 110,000 miles, runs beautifully but had an intermittent check engine light that now is constant.

Airflow system was the code - i checked it several months ago so can't recall the exact one -

...is it possible to carefully clean these or otherwise service them prior to replacement?

...any recommendations on successful use of of aftermarket/ebay sources etc for this component?

...any other tips?

Also - I'm new here so I apologize in advance for not knowing if the full factory technical manuals are on the forum. My W116 (450SEL) experience is extensive and I know a couple of their forums had the full tech manuals on PDF or active online access - is the W202 (gee I hope I got that model designation correct) also blessed with such access?
