The SRS light stays on after starting the engine. What are possible causes and how to rectify

well mine came on very unexpectedly and for me it was a loose harness that connects the pass side air bag sensor to the system. my harness is under the front of the pass seat. it is red. when i disconnected the harness i found one of the brass prongs was pushed back into the harness so that when i connected the two together it wasn't making an electrical connection. i removed the two phillips head screws that held the strip the harness was in the the seat and then worked the prong back into the harness. problem solved and light went out.
