2006 C230 Sport Brakes/Tires Issues
I'm quickly approaching 23k completely trouble free miles on my 06 230 sport. My stock Michelin rear tires are wearing a little thin so they will be replaced soon, but so far I have absolutely no complaints at all, except for the normal for mercedes excessive brake dust on the front wheels. I'm still planning to change the front pads with a ceramic set to cure that. Anyone else have enough miles on their 06 or newer V6 sport to have changed tires or brakes yet?
PS I did add another car to the stablepictured at our vacation house on the NC Outer Banks below. It is an 02 530 with sport and luxury packages. No complaints there either!

Not due to mileage but I am changing out the wheels/tires on my 07 230SS. I'm going with Bridgestone Potenza RE750's all the way around. From the reviews I've read they are a great tire and offer minimal road noise while maintaining good tread life. They have decent inclement weather characteristics and aren't too expensive @ $205/tire. They aren't as sticky as the factory Michelins which is a plus in that they should outlast them while not sacrificing performance. Bridgestone also has the 960AS Pole Positions out that are truly all-season and from what I've read an absolutely fantastic tire. What brand of Ceramic Pads are you going to go with? I'm thinking of doing that myself as I detest brake dust!!!![:@]
The front brakes dust excessively? Gee I never noticed....I have had my '06 for 14 payments and only 7000k miles. I guess I wash it so much that I never accumulate that much dust!
I am dreading replacing these Michelins. These are really impressive tires but I am too cheap to spend $1000 on another set when these are done. I am certainly glad to hear you have gotten over 20k on them. At this rate it will take me another 2 years to get there!
I will likely put Kumhos on as a replacement. I am a buig Kumho fan - have not been let down yet, and they are dirty cheap. $60/ea for my Miata and about $80/ea for my wifes Honda Pilot.
This is why I only have 6800 miles on my C230.....this is just too much fun AND I can afford to drive it - no $230 oil changes.
