2005 C230 - License plate bulb light message
 

I get "1 Message" in the car

leftlicense plate light not working. However I checked the bulb and it seems fine.

What else do i check?
How do i delete the message?

I had the same issue and replaced the bulb. My bulb was going on then going off. The filament looked ok but was going bad from what the service rep told me so the sensor would pick it up as needing to be replaced. Once I replaced the bulb the message went away and it's been fine.

Is the bulbbehind the front license plate to the left?
I am gussing it can be easily found and replaced? Anything I need to know.

Mine went off for the right side plate light. Same location right above the plate next to the trunk handle. You will need a small phillips head to remove the screws. I replaced both bulbs just incase. One lens cover came off quite easily but the other needed some help ;). Just leave one screw threaded just enough so you can pull slightly down to remove the lens cover.Real simple job takes like 2 minutes at the most to replace.

I went to autozone and they said they dont' carry the bulb. I would only find it at the dealer?
anyone knows where else i can buy this from.
any part # etc

I got my bulb from Kragens Auto Parts. I got a pack for 2 for $6.00. Part number I don't know off hand but the parts person should be able to type it up in their system.
