2004 C240 Under-hood Issue
When I started rooting around the engine compartment of a 2004 C240 that I just purchased, I discovered a plastic housing with three spring clamps and containing a paper filter laying on top of the battery, unattached to anything. The part looked like it was supposed to attach to the fresh air venton the firewall so I attached it there with the spring clamps. Now it looks like something may be missing since the paper filter is exposed on the underside and faces downward toward the battery. Is this just my imagination, or is a part missing, or is this just part of the design? Hoping someone can shed some light on this.
