2002 C240 Sedan vs 2004+ C240 Sport Sedans

I'm a first time poster and I've done some searching through the forum and couldn't find the answers I was looking for so I'm starting this new thread. If someone could redirect me, I'd appreciate it.

I have a 2002 C240 Sedan (original owner) and since it's pushing 4 years now, I was hoping to dress it up a bit to remove some boredom with the car (I'd buy a new car but I take mass transit everyday so it's somewhat pointless to buy a new car and have it sit and depreciate).

So first off, I was just wondering what the main differences are between the C240 sedan and the sport sedan versions that have been available after 2002:

- I'd like to replace the 16in 7spoke wheels I have right now with the sportier 17in 5 spoke wheels (staggered). This should be a direct replacement right?

- I'm assuming the sport sedans have a stiffer/lower suspension. Not sure I really want to sacrifice the ride quality but I also want the 17" wheels to fill the wheel well exactly like the sport sedan. Should I go with an aftermarket suspension?

- I believe the sport sedans have a different body kit. How much is this and where would I find it?

- The exhaust system looks different as well. Anyone have a part number? (I believe I need a different rear apron if I do this).

- The brake system looks different as well. Does the sport sedan just have bigger rotors and better calipers or ?

- Anyone know of a good place to purchase a new/used CD changer for this car? I saw some people quoting the dealer at around $150 to install it. Is this right?

- I believe the headlight assemblies are slightly different as well with the newer 2005/2006 cars. If I purchased a new kit, is it a direct bolt on (assuming I do NOT get the HID ones)?

Thanks in advance for any help! Happy holidays!

Welcome aboard.

1. Wheels - you can go with either 17" sport wheels or 17" AMG Style IV wheels. Yes, they are direct replacement.
2. Suspension - if you get H&R cup kit with #4 spring pads, ride height will be almost even and ride quality will be like stock.
3. Body kit - might as well get AMG body kit or add-on lip spoilers.
4. Exhaust - if you want deep tone exhaust sound, I'd recommend Eisenmann sport exhaust.
5. Brake - AMG brake kit is the way to go.
6. CD changer - better to take it to local A/V shop for installations.
7. Headlight - 05 headlights are direct replacement. Bi-xenons are also direct replacement, but you'd need to take it to a dealer to get it programmed.

PM or email me for more info.
