Default 2002 C240 Sedan Power Window Switch

Hey all, glad to be part of the forum ! Of course I have to come blazing in with a question right away ... yeah, I know. We're brand new to the Benz family as this is our first one and we love her. I hope somebody can provide some step-by-step guidance so I don't end up tearing something up more.

The switch for the drivers side window broke (it never did feel right, real stiff) and I ordered a new module (?), the part that contains all of the window switches and the trunk release button, and it arrived today. My question is what all is involved in replacing that as far as removing the one that's there and putting the new one in ?

I've searched several places and on here but can't find a post about that specifically. Does the entire door panel have to come off or maybe the bottom speaker grill and then there's screws for it under there ?

Thanks in advance all and if anyone can provide details on how to do this it will be much appreciated !

yes the whole panel off. pull off cover on inside door handle..you will see a spot to do that....then the SRS badge comes off and the **** and then just pull the panel out from the bottom just basic clips.

Just an update - it was a piece of cake. Start to finish took all of 20 minutes and the new switch module works like a champ. The most difficult part was getting the top of the door panel unseated from the track it sits in.

I hope you guys are still using the forum! I tried this last night, I took the 3 screws out (all that I could find) and still the panel does not move at all. Is there any special trick, like pushinig it up first and then out?
