2002 C240 Air Cleaner Replacement
Folks,
Now that my C240 is off warranty, I want to do most A and B service myself, as I did with my 1998 ML320. However, even after reviewing posts back to 2003, I can't find out how to remove the engine cover to get at the air cleaner. Any ideas? Mike |

Here is a complete DIY for the C240 air filter with some great pics. I hope the link works:

Simply put...in your car, the air cleaner box is integrated into the plastic cover that sits on top of the engine.
There are two pieces. A smaller "front" piece and the "main" piece. Lift up. Rock a bit if needed. Turn the main piece up-side down. You will know what screws to undo. Torx, I believe they are. Open it up, replace two air filters. Put everything back in. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT K&N FILTERS ARE THE BEST. GO TO AUTOZONE OR ADVANCE AUTO TO ORDER THEM. IF WORRY IS IN YOUR BLOOD, BUY OEM FILTERS FROM YOUR CHARMING LOCAL MB DEALER. |
