Help - my 2002 C230 is out of warranty and I'm told I need a new alternator. I was quoted almost $800 just for the alternator. I searched around but can not find it anywhere. I need the part number for it to do a better search. I think I might be able to get away with a Chrysler version of the part. If you know this part number or one for a previous year - let me know - it'll help with my search.

I have a 2001 C320 and just recently bought a new alternator from www.rockauto.com but I did not see one available for your year. You can try www.thepartsbin.com and calling them to see if they may have one. I didn't see it on their website, but some of the parts I have ordered from them don't show up online. I only paid $174 along with $111 core charge which was refunded. I hope this helps.
