2001 C240 won't start after pumping gas
 

This is the second time in a row after filling up that this has happened. Last month after I filled up, the car would crank but would not turn over. It finally started after 15 min. with the check engine light on. Drove home, took the truck to work, & came back home after work to start it with no problems & no check engine light on. Car was fine for the next two weeks (did not buy gas). This morning I bought gas & the car wouldn't start again till about an hour later. Could it be the fuel pump?

LOL AWW... ARE YOU OVER-FILLING IT BY CHANCE??? THAT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I OVER FILLED MY MOMS CAR... I JUST THOUGHT I COULD ROUND IT UP TO AN EVEN DOLLAR AMOUNT YET AFTER I DID THAT I COULDNT START IT FOR A WHILE... SO MAYB TRY NOT FILLING ALL THE WAY UP?JUST AN IDEA.. I DONT KNW BUT THATS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME

I didn't top off. I put in $20.00 of gas.

hmm now u got me thinkin bout the fuel pump...how many miles u got on ur car?

Not really sure..... it's my wifes car.....around 51,000 miles with service B due in about 2,500 miles.

Check the gas cap for pressure. Clean it so it would get a tight seal when closed. Change it if necessary.
