I have a a 2000 c230 Mercedes and one morning it wouldnt start so I replaced battery. Well now it won't shift out of 1st gear. It will go in reverse and will go in drive put once you go to drive it will not go back to park until you kill the engine. Thoughts comments???

Did this happen the instant you replaced the battery? I mean right then and there? If so, take it to an independent shop for MB and tell them what happened and it may only be that somehow the tranny needs to be referenced again. Or not. You could start there.
