I just got my Benz a week ago, and this is the first problem. My trunk is not popping open, not from the key fob or the switch. Battery is ok, it locks and unlocks, but does not pop up. Has anyone had this problem? Is it easy to fix or costly? Thanks in advance for help.

 

I'm also having this problem with my 2000 C280.
If someone can post a resolution and the $$$ to fix it. that would be greatly appreciated.

 

first make sure the trunk is not in valet mode that is the lock tumbler at the trunk is full left position, basically open the trunk with the key and close , next try the central locking pump its located under the rear seat bottom pass side (lift rear seat bottom you'll see black box with yellow vacc. hose going into it the box is surrounded by a big sponge material for noise dampening. next unplug the electrical conn . to the box wait 20 sec . make sure there is no green
corrosion over the terminal ends of the conn. or the box terminals. reinstall the central locking pump should be buzzing and working next unlock the trunk via the button (key or center dash) the trunk should open(if no buzzing heard or felt check the fusesin the fuse boxs with a12v test light .unless the pump totally died it should work. try that let me know what happened
