1999 C230 Kompressor Buyer Questions
i'm a young buyer interested in buying a used, one owner 1999 C230 Kompressor with 61,330 miles but i'm scared that i'll have to start replacing things soon. how much is it to fix the A/C and for a new transmission? are there any other concerns i should have?
According to what is wrong, say the AC, if all it needs is a recharge a few hundred bucks, if the system needs replacement, Thousand of dollars, My 99 C280 is very reliable but an dealer oil change is $130.00, and to have the wheels balancec $75.00 so, you buy a Mercedes you also pay Mercedes prices. I an an O2 sensor replaced under warranty recently, no charge, if I had to pay the bill would be around $300 and there are 4 on my car, A MAS for my car is around $250 to buy, not counting at least a hours labor so your in for $340 or so. But if you want to ride with the big boys you go to pay for it. Don't get me wrong I am not rich, In fact I am handicapped and work part time and I bought the car used 25 months ago with 21K plus miles. It still hade 8 months on the new car warranty and 1 year on Starmark, and I bought another to be safe. However my radio went out, not covered, over $800 I was quoted for a new one and that is with 20% discount 'cause I am a member of the Mercedes Benz Club of America. One good thing 99 and 00 were the last of the good C Classes, stay away from 01 and 02 model had a lot of bugs.
