hi guys, i have recently purchased a 1998 C280 that is wrecked in the front and i was wondering if anybody has or knows where i can get a diagram of the engine components or what is underneath the hood
i am not familiar with mercedes layouts and there seems to be something missing underneath the hood i just dont know what it is
any feedback is appriciated, thank you

 

I hope you don't mean the battery. It's in the trunk.

 

haha noo, its some kind of a container, i can see it in the drawing on the owners manual, but it doesnt say what its for or what it is
located on driver's side at the very bottom, right above the headlight
my brother said it might an overflow container for the coolant, but i doubt it since the coolant container is on the other side

 

The only two containers in that area are the windshield washer fluid container and the ABS system for the brakes. Hope this helps.

 

If it's the windshield washer fluid container, that's no biggie at all to replace. Should be able to get one at junk yard really cheap.

 

its not the washer fluid, and isnt the abs container at the top near the windshield? because i have a brake container there
what im looking for might be nothing at all, because so far all the other C280's which ive seen under the hood have nothing there, the picture on the manual could have come from either the C230 or C43

 

No, your master cylinder is at the top. The ABS system, which is a junction of brake lines in the front driver's side corner.

 

Take a picture of the area in question, and we may be able to give you a more definative answer.
