1994 C280 Error 1711?
 

Hi, new here, forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place. If so, let me know where it should go. I searched the forum for C280 1711 and didn't find anything, so I thought I'd ask here.

I pulled codes on a 1994 C280 using a ODB II device (Actron ODBII Diagnostics Tester CP9035, although I'm not sure that makes any difference) and I'm getting a code 1711. I can't find any reference to this code that makes any sense to me, the only thing I found is that it's a Mazda code (can't be right), so I'm not sure what 1711 is suppose to mean for this car.

I'm far from any sort of expert. To the best of my understanding, the car predates the official start of ODB II, but a sticker under the hood said ODB II compliant, and previously the diagnostic tester correctly reported when an O2 sensor went out.

Can anyone point me to what this 1711 code means for a 1994 C280?

I googled this thing as much as I could, and it is even more difficult for me to understand.

Activation requirement CHECK ENGINE lamp:
Two consecutive trips with fault.
Activation of CHECK ENGINE lamp:
At start of next trip.
Test to detect fault

That's all a bit foreign to me. Is that a sensor? A stuck valve (I don't mean engine valve, I mean what is a "switchover valve") or some other part/thing I can take off and replace or check?
