03 c240 tail light malfunction indication

Default 03 c240 tail light malfunction indication
I am getting a left tail light malfunction warning but both tailights are working fine.t removed the lights board,removed the bulb and reinstalled. Tail light still works but still getting malfunction warning.

Any thoughts?

similar prob here for my 2004 240 4Matic CPO MB that I bought 2 months ago. The malfunction indicator shows "BRAKE LIGHT, R" .... WHAT does it mean??? The light seems to work fine. BTW "R" stands for rear or right?
