Default "NO CD CHANGER"

1999 c230 K. ---my stereo does not recognize the factory six cd changer... happen to anyone else? common problem or just loose wires? any help would be great. thanks guys

You might try disconnecting it from the power source and reconnecting it 1-5 minutes later it worked on my cd changer. However mine showed a no magazine message.

Just as mentioned above. Unplug power as well as the fiber optic cable. Make sure rado is off when you do this. Now Turn radio back on with out cd changer. Turn radio off and now reconnect changer and turn radio back on. If this does not work maybe you have a bad fiber optic cable or your changer has gone bad.

I also have this problem in my C240-- where exactly do you unplug the power/fiberoptic cable for the CD player?

you unscrew the cd changer in your trunk (and pull up) the wires that are connected to the cd changer could be taken out. its this way in my "99 c230k it might be different on yours but i'm pretty sure its not (95%)

Ah... my 2002 C240 has it in the glove compartment... I already attemped to unscrew it but couldn't fit the screwdriver. Guess I will have to take it to the dealership along with my "Check left rear brake light" malfunction.
