Have a 2008 E350 that just turned over 200,000. At 200,024 it developed a misfire on cylinder #4. It would start but run rough and had a burning smell.. Replaced the coil and plugs and now it won't even start. Also, have a code for intake manifold rod stuck closed on bank one. Manifold issues have been around before the warranty ran out (100,000 miles) Not sure if that is part of the problem or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

Hello and welcome to the forum Richie! When you had the plugs and coils replaced, did they also check your injectors?

 

Hi, I changed the coil and plugs but after trying to start, I took the plug out of cylinder 4 and could smell gas. But never checked the actual injectors. Not sure how that's done Thanks

 

It's quite involved and shouldn't be attempted unless you are very comfortable mechanically. I'm attaching a DIY tech article and also an older thread where this is discussed.
