You will recall in the last episode I reported that Brunehilda ('04 S55 AMG) was settling down on her right side after sitting for awhile. Also you will remember me mentioning that I hit something hard enough to wreck my right front tire. I took her into the MB dealer and he tells me there is no damage to right front suspension and the reason she is settling down (very slow takes about a week) is the right rear strut is leaking. **** off because I thought I had a claim here. Anyway my question now is can a backyard mechanic replace these struts? Assuming one has access to a hoist. Do you need special tools? Should both rears be replaced? Thanks.
