need help with my C36, 1994/5

Hello everybody, this is my first post. I own C36 1994/5 in Indonesia. it's been awhile I have these problems and all dealers and mercedes garages here don't have the right answers . my cars' problems are : engine sounds like diesel, but the most irritating me is when engine got to warm/normal hot temp. it become lack of power, but when it is cold/ first start the engine in the morning the power is awesome but about 30 minutes or so later power become less.
I would really appriciate it if some one could answer my questions. thanks in advance.

hello, I had a C36 and it always sounded like diesel but it always worked well, I think it is just the normal sound of these cars...

thank's for respond. someone already answered about diesel sound, said it needs a new chain tensioner, or possibly a serpentine drive belt tensioner. but the most irritating me is when engine got to warm/normal hot temp. it becomes lack of power, but when it is cold/ first start the engine in the morning the power is awesome, about 30 minutes or so later power become less. does your's do that problem ??? do you know why ??

Only guessing here, but:

Coolant temperature sensor defective?
Inlet air temperature sensor defective?
Clogged fuel filter?
Blocked catalytic convertors?

Don't discount anything. This guy had his fuel filter installed back to front!:

i know about reversed fuel filter, i've read. mine never give me any problems, ( ex: died or anything else) it runs well except when reaches hot normal temp. lacks of power (when floored down shift does not react right away.). thank's.

Nothing can help my 1995 C36

I had the exact same problem as Car Maniac - only both I and the dealer were too stupid to fix the thing, so I have lived with a C36 that the dealer couldn't fix. I sure felt swell driving next to a C230 and it blowing me away in a race - of course I would act as if I were not racing such a mundane vehicle. As soon as my car is warm, forget it. And, if I drive about 80 to 90, on the freeway, when I get off, the car will be running on 5 instead of 6 cyl. If I quickly turn the car off at a red light and restart the car - its back to running on 6. But hey, I get to brag that I drive an AMG. Dealer replaced so much of the car under warranty - that it is truly ridiculous.
