We haven't had our '04 S55 very long but everytime we have it out it suprisesus justhow fast this thing is. We also have a '96 Corvette LT4 and I'm not sure which one is faster? Short or lining up with our LT4 do any fellow S55 owners out there have any specs or comparison data comparing the S55 with other high performance cars? Definitely going to have to get a radar detector!

Your S55 should be easily able to walk the 96 Vette. Your Vette has 330 HP & 340 FT-LB Torque at 3,300 pounds. Your S55 has 493 HP & 516 FT-LB Torque at 4,300 pounds. The Vette does the 1/4th mile in 13.7 seconds and the S55 does it in 13.3 seconds.

 

I would say that if you '04 S55 only does the 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds, then something is surely amiss. I have an '03 S55 and I have made numerous 1/4 mile runs under 12.5, with a personal best of 11.97. Plus, many of these cars dyno much higher than the stock 493 HP stated by the manufacturer.
