Just saying hello. I've transfered over from the Corvette Forum since I've traded in my 01 Z06 for a new E55 AMG.

Today was the first time I test drove an AMG and I knew from the second I hit the throttle, I was hooked. I told my saleswoman I'd take it before I even started back to the dealership. Easiest decision I ever made spending money. I pick it up Wednesday and I feel like a 7 y/o waiting for Christmas.

I did the same thing. I went from a C5 to an C55 AMG.
I have 1400 miles on it now and I am still lovin it.

I too came from a modded 00 Vette....best time a 12.1. Now E55....love the blower...there is something about that whine that sounds so fine.

 

I have a 2002 Z06 and a 2004 E55. Both are great cars, but built for different purposes. I love them both.

Seems to be a bunch of us "x-vette" enthusiasts moving into AMG's and E55's in particular! I'm a new transplant from a 2k MY C5 Coupe, modded to 425 rwhp/tq with best time of 11.9 @ 119 on a mid-west track. However, I did enjoy road racing more (later) than dragging and will miss that a lot. I am pretty impressed with this new E55 AMG sedan for get up and go, awsome. And of course, I can take up to three friends out for romps on the go pedal!! Look forward to further info on this car.

I guess I need to go check out an E55. I'm pretty happy with my cars right now, though. It needs to be pretty special. The E55, that is.

 

E55 AMG is not a joke. it goes! i love to own one...........and also a CLS 55

 

well the Z06 is nothing but an over hyped mediocre car. Not bad but not as good as they try to make it seem. It's still a GM product. And still feel like a GM product.
