Default Concerns with slight heating problem

I have a 2004 SL55 AMG with 27,000 miles. I've only had the car for less than a week. In normal freeway driving (70-80 mph) the temp gauge reads a needle width over 80 degrees Centigrade. About 5 miles from my home I get into some moderate/severe hills. The temp gauge then almost touches 100 degrees Cent.

Is this any cause for concern.

Any problems would be covered by the Certified Pre_Owned warranty.
