I just purchased my 02 clk 55 2 weeks ago. I have a question about the tranny. Under hard acceleration it seem like the shift from 1st to 2nd is one second in length before it applies full power. Is this normal? Also why is the 0-60 time a second slower in the convertible than the coupe?

Not sure about the trans cause i have never driven a AMG but its slower cause the convertibles have more weight.

 

You are likely to find that the convertible will not be wuite as quick 0-60 as a coupe, simply because of the weight, as for the transmission i would not know personally.

If it is worrying you, take it to a Mercedes dealership and ask them as they should know :P

 

Do a simple reset of the "learned" tranny.
1.Turn key to pos 2
2. Hold down gas peddle for 6 sec
3. Turn key off while peddle is still down
4. Release peddle and wait 2 minutes. This resets the tranny to factory default to relearn.

 

check your air filters and MAF sensor.
