Exactly what constitutes or goes into a 1997 AMG to make it speical? I assume it it something more than just the rims, but I don't know.

I'm looking at a S600 which the owner claims has the AMG option, yet nowhere does the car say on it that is an AMG class.

Advice?

 

obviously, i don't know anything specific aboutthe particular car in questionbut many dealers slapped a set of amg rims, and/or a minimal body kit(like bumper, spoilers, ortail pipes),and an amg badge on the trunk and called it an "amg option" for the unassuming buyer. i'm sure many owners did the same thing for their own shortcomings...uh, i mean reasons. unfortunatley besides aesthetics, there's NOTHING amg about these cars.

...it would be the equivalent of putting cobra badges and rims on a regular mustang gt and calling it a "cobra option".
