rear seat
Hello All.
I pulled out the rear seat bench on monday. I found the springs are intact but the stuffing is disintegrated. I was going to get some foam and try to restuff it myself. Has anyone done this? What did you use? What didnt work well? More importantly, what did work well? I dont want to pay to have this done. I was thinking of buying some pillow foam at Wally World. The back of the seat where it goes in under the backrest is open, I was going to stuff it and (you guessed it) duct tape it. I bet there is a MB part number for duct tape so it will still be original. |
RE: rear seat
When I bought my '78 300D, the previous owner, had used old floor mats to stuff the back of the seat. Whatever really works. My problem was more with the springs. I have since found another back seat to put it, but now the big spring in the back popped off the back tray window and need to do more work and I am look for another rear seat.
I do believe MB does have a part number for duct tape. I like your ride. Happy Motoring - |
RE: rear seat
Floor mats, now thats an idea. WHat I ended up doing was spray painint the springs with some Rustoleum. Then i used about 7 pounds of polyfill. The seat is nice and firm now.
I need to get a new passenger side seatbelt. The mechanism on the belt is destoyed. |
