Changing back lights of gauges?!?!
 

Hey everybody,

I'm chris and i'm new here. I got my license couple of month ago, and my parents gave me their '98 E300 TDT and they got now a 06 E55 amg.

Anyway, my question is, the 2006 E class got those white blue gauges and in my eyes its looks amazing. I wanna change the backlight of my E300 aswell to light blue ones.
I checked google, but couldnt really find anything. Can someone please provide me with a link maybe?
If someone got such an color change already, can you post some pics please.

welcome chris.

the backlight for the new e-class is neon. it uses high voltage while yours use only bulb.

you can find bulbs with blue jacket on it though.

can you maybe provide me with a link where i can find the bulbs and can you kinda tell me how to remove the existing bulb?

and is it easy to change the bulb behind the climate control and CD-Radio?

Lucky guy, I wish my parents gave me a benz!!!! Instead they blessed my heart with a 2000 Malibu lol. Now im 23 and was finally able to afford the Benz i dreamed off. Anyways....Congrats...and welcome to the forum

HEY CHRIS, U GET THE LIGHT ISSUE FIXED? YOU CAN BUY THE TOOLS TO PULL OUT THE CLIMATE CONTROL AND REPLACE THE ONE BULB UNDER THE UNIT...SUPER SIMPLE. AS FOR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, USE THE SPECIAL HOOKS AVAILABLE AND PULL OUT THE CLUSTER..."VERY CAREFULLY". AS FOR THE BULBS? I WENT AFTER MARKET BUT JUST COULDNT GET THE RIGHT BULBS FROM AUTOZONE, PEPBOYS, ETC. I WAS FORCED TO GO TO THE STEALER AND GET THE STOCK ONES. I GOT LUCKY CUZ THE GUY JUST GAVE THEM TO ME. NO CHARGE. VERY SIMPLE AS WELL TO REPLACE, JUST BE CAREFUL TAKEING THE CLUSTER OUT AND PUTTING IT BACK IN.
