I'm looking for my oil filter on a 96 sl600?

 

Merc are quite good at positioning oil filters and anything else really that needs to be serviced regularly. On my CL600 the oil filter is at the top right hand of the engine but I have heard of them placing it near the rear of some engines but still on the top. they are usually black hexagonal shaped plastic.

 

I believe that is a M-120, then the oil filter would be right below theleft hand mass air flow and air filter housing. Or if you are standing in front of the radiator it would be to your right. Its hiding under the MAF.

 

on the 1990s v12, the oil filter is located as stated, driver side, near front of engine, under the air cleaner box. Is a black,cylinder looking, with hex shaped screw on/off top. Holds a canister style, paper filter.

 

Thanks for the responses, I actually found it right after logging out. It was hiding under that airbox as stated.
