I have a 1997 SL500 AMG and was wondering what makes it different from a standard sport? I have the emblems, panoramic roof, rear spoiler and exhaust. I've seen other SL500 that look so simulier, even AMG's but don't match my SL500. I know a standard SL500 sport has 315 hp, just wondering if I have a true AMG. Well I did call the dealer with my VIN and they did say it is a AMG. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to all. Shawn

 

if its says 500 its not an AMG. itll have AMG on the engine cover and also in the tach on the cluster if it is an AMG..but you were able to get an AMG package that had the AMG panels and bumpers but wasnt an actaul AMG.
