Default W220 battery issue

Hi, I have a 2002 S500 and the battery looks to be dead.A few questions- How long is the estimated life of a battery before it needs to be replaced. I jumped the battery and drove a lot, lasted 2 days and battery was dead again.

The more important question is that I see the battery in the trunk but I do not see any types of screws holding it down or mechanism that locks the battery in place. Anyone know how to release the battery so Ican pull it out.

Kind of embarrassing to ask this kind of question but I just cannot see what holds the battery in place.

thanks
SW

there should be one 13 mm screw at the bottom of the battery toward the rear of the car, just a metal bracket to hold down the battery at the bottom.

Thank you sir. I was thrown off by the hydraulic piece that is placed in foam over the mounting screw. Not wanting to be tugging on things that are likely too expensive to tugging on, I did not know that it was removeable.

Now I know I can just pull that out and the foam casing out to get to the screw.

much obliged.

average battery seems to last 5-7 years.
climate and drive habits can make a big difference however.
hot and cold climates tend to kill a battery faster.
