w123 Central Locking

w123 Central Locking
I've recently got a 1984 230 TE. When I got it the central locking mainly worked but was a bit lazy on the passenger side front door. Now it doesn't work at all.
Haynes don't do a manual for this model only the deisels or 6 cylinder petrol, but I think I'll get one of them to cover the rest of the car.
So far - as it's easy to access I've tried putting a pipe on the petrol cap lock and sucking, that works. The tailgate trim is off following a broken window so I've done the same on the lock and unlock side, that works too.
Next I took off the trim on the front passenger side and the sucking pipe test works that lock OK. Also the vacuum plunger works both ways when disconeceted.
I was planning to work around the rest of the doors but the other half has taken the car out.
I take it there is a resevoir somewhere, but where is it?
If all the lock diaphrams seem OK how do I test if there is enough vacuum.
How does the switching actually work?
What else should I look for?
Anyone have a schemetic?
Also I've upset the threaded adjustment on the front door, how far up or down should it be?
Sorry this is so long for my first post on this forum!

RE: w123 Central Locking
I purchased a service manual from www.manualsunlimited.com It was $23 & is VERY thorough. That's about all I can offer...

1984 230 Mercedes-Benz
Can you tell me if your 1984 Mercedes has doors which automatically lock, unlock and/or relock? If so, when do they do so? For example, is it at a certain number of miles per hour or when you place it into a certain gear?
I'd be very grateful for any info you can give me.
Thanks,
jacksquat
