Question w123 brake issues

hi, this is my first post here.

i have an '83 240D that i just got. the front brakes start to drag at random times, along with hard pedal, obviously. brakes work fine otherwise--good pads, no squeaks or pulling, etc. there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. sometimes when it gets hot, other times when it's been dragging, it will let loose. sometimes it will start to drag after it sits for 5 minutes after i had been driving it drag-free.

i have drained fluid and bled system, and i have cleaned front calipers. my next step (as per haynes manual) was to check vacuum system w/ gauge.

thanx in advance for any help.

so i assume that it would be the front brakes grabbing as they are closest to the master cylinder? no rebuild kits available? i suppose a new one is beyond my reach, so i may have to go to a junkyard and take my chances. thanx for the reply.
