I need some informed guesses as to the cause of my 1974 240D automatic transmission problem. I have lost reverse. It happened suddenly. I drove the care yesterday and couldn't back out of a parking space. The forward drive positions seem to work OK. The oil level is correct.

 

Thanks, I was thinking that might be the problem and plan to check it today.
