Very strange.........
In follow up to my post below titled "P0507 and P1580 codes for 97 E420" listen to this.
I bought the car off my mother in law, and when I told her I got the check engine light, she said it's come on a few times while the car was running fine. She said just push the button on the key a few times when you turn the key just prior to the car turning over, and it will make the light go out.
I thoughts she was nuts, but I tried it this morning and it worked! Plus, the slightly high idle RPM I thought was there is down again too.
Anyone ever hear of such a thing? I sure haven't!

That's the strange part. It seems fixed and the light went out after doing the "key trick" mentioned above. Is this mearly coincidence?
Could this possibly work the way it appears to have done?

All mother-in-laws are nuts, including mine. Some more imtermitently nuts than the rest.
Check Engine lights have the tendency to come and go intermitently for various reasons (including having a mother-in-law who is nuts) until the source of the problem is resolved.
