just thought i would let everyone know about possible causes to faults on zf auto box my v230 as been playing up for about a month the gearbox light would come on and the car would go into get home mode this started to get worse and the gearbox would only select 1st gear and reverse othertimes it would be in 3rd gear so i took it to merc comercial dealer who did a diagnostic on it the only fault they could find was code 224 which is the internal speed sensor merc cant fix this there solution is to put a new gearbox in after phoning around i found a automatic transmision specialist they can fix this fault without removing the box from the car at under half the price it would cost to fit a new box so if your having any problems with your box doing the same things as mine this could be the problem its quite common they burn out with the heat dont go to merc go to auto gearbox specialist they can put a special fluid in it to stop it overheating so you wont get the problems agian

just thought i would add somemore info beside the gearbox fault there was also a fault on the throttle body this can also do the same things as said fault on gearbox so get this checked out first if its only this whats at fault it could save you a lot of money in my case i had both faults present so its cost me a fortune to get fixed good job i got the car cheap

I have a V220 year 1999 and the transmission its not engaging.Warn light is on.Does someone no how can I fix that.I heard with lucas anti slipping fluid can do?
