Urgent! Suspension spring replacement
Hello guys, need some urgent help. My car is in the shop and I need to decline or approve the repairs by tomorrow.
W210: 2000 E430 2wd.
A rear suspension spring is broke. He wants $450 USD for parts ($200 for parts) and labor to replace both rear springs. Usually this is a matter of compressing the spring and replacing. Is there some complexity that I'm missing here? Why the high price? Is an averager DIY'er capable of this repair?
Thanks much, Matt

usually when the spring breaks its at the very bottom of the spring. a few inches from the very end of the spring. and you probably dont even notice, and there probably is no differnce in ride at all. so personally i wouldnt waste my money. but it could fail for a state inspection if you have that in your state where you live.
