Updating COMAND and Navigation on 2013 E350

Hi there,

I have searched high and low in this forum, but have only found conflicting answers. Hope you can help me.

I have a 2013 E350 Coupe and I think it's time to update the maps as I just moved to Dallas, TX and there are lots of roads here that my GPS doesn't know exist.

After doing some research, I initially came to the conclusion that for the first 3-4 years, Mercedes dealers would make that update for free. All dealers I have called denied that. The answer seems to be to buy a set of 2 discs for ~$300 to make the update.

Is this true? If so, is the answer / process any different to update the COMAND software?

Finally, does anybody know the changes across the various COMAND software versions? Is it worth the update?

Hello - is your navigation system DVD based or not? If so, you can just purchase the updated DVD and install it that way. If your navigation requires a software update, this may be something that you could do with a Mercedes scan tool or if may require the dealership to do it. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I just updated my map data base, download it from me-mercedes-benz.com , you would need to have registered your vehicle, would need 32GB or larger jump drive formatted to either NTFS or ExFat.
First download and install MB download manager, then use it to download the maps to your jump drive.
North America Navigation data base which includes Canada , Mexico, US territories plus 50 states is 19 GB in size. takes a while to download and install,
Afterwards hookup the jump drive with USb cable to your car and the display monitor will walk you through the process.
