Turbo Question acceleration and whine.
 

I just purchased a 1998 E300 Turbo diesel with fairly low mileage. When I owned a VW TDI, the turbo kick was pronounced, but on this Benz, I can feel no such acceleration. I don't think the car is sluggish off the line but wanted to find out what's normal.

Also is the whine that the car makes normal? It reminds me a bit of an old Volvo turbo I had years ago.
