I would like to buy a RWD GLK 350, but must be able to tow it behind my motor home. I got the input from one dealer's sales person and their service manager that all RWD Mercedes vehicles can be towed with the rear wheels on a dolly (which I already have and use for my FWD AT car) without adhering to the 30 miles @ 30mph restriction. This would mean that the car is traveling backwards on the non-drive front wheels. When I called Mercedes customer care about this issue, the only response I could get was that they reccommend that vehicle is moved on a trailer or flat bed tow truck. Essentially, they couldn't answer my question. Before I make this investment, I want to be sure that I can tow the GLK in this manner at hiway sppeds without damaging anything or negating the warrantee. Any suggestions or inputs?
