steering wheel lock

i have a 1997 c230 and my steering wheel locked, how do i unlock it?

The normal answer is to turn the ignition on using the key. Is there more to the story that you haven't related yet?

maybe the key cannot turn.

if the wheel is steered, it can sometimes create a force against the lock.

Yeah, I was just trying to get him to say more, to describe the problem in more detail. It would surprise me if he didn't know that the steering wheel can bind up when it's locked. I didn't want to offend him.
